I was made for this work — literally.

I’m a Cancer Sun with a Cancer Midheaven, a licensed clinical social worker turned astrologer, and a mother of two humans and three fur babies. I spent years sitting with people carrying patterns they couldn’t name — inherited loops that started long before they were born. The clinical language was precise. It wasn’t enough.

So, I went looking. In the charts. In my own lineage. All the way back to my great-grandmother Catherine, who didn’t speak English and carried her entire inner world in silence. That silence had a shape. I grew up inside it. I named this work Maria Catherine because I needed to stop standing outside my own lineage looking in. Catherine couldn’t speak her world into existence. I’m here to speak mine and yours.

During my Saturn return — Saturn retrograde in my 4th house, the house of ancestry — I stood at the exact fork every woman in my line had faced before me. I chose differently. I didn’t understand the weight of that choice until my daughter was born and I opened her chart. The pattern that had written itself into the women of my line for generations wasn’t there. It had stopped. Not with her. With me.

That’s when I understood what astrology is actually for. Liberation.

The stories carried in silence are often the ones most worth telling.
